I was pregnant with my second child when my husband became ill and was hospitalized for almost my entire pregnancy. After some quite challenging months my son was born, and my husband finally on the road of recovery… but I fell apart. Doctors diagnosed a mix of postpartum and post-traumatic stress depression.
And that’s how it all began: A friend introduced me to yoga. Not only did I start to see that light again at the end of the tunnel, but I also felt more connected to myself and others, more balanced and happy than ever before. I had to share with others what this amazing “thing” called yoga and meditation had done for me.
I became a certified Hatha Yoga instructor and attended other trainings over the years including Yoga Therapy, Trauma-Sensitive Yoga, Yoga Nidra Meditation and Kid’s Yoga. Next step on the Wellness Quest was Nutrition as it goes hand-in-hand with our physical and emotional Well-Being. I became a certified Holistic Health Coach through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition.
We all have to face challenges in this life, some smaller and some bigger ones (and some really big ones). There are amazing tools available today to help us find more ease during difficult times, to become physically and mentally stronger, to feel more confident and focused – so that we can truly reach our potential and create the life we want. We just have to be ready and reach for it!
